My Story - Mira Nakashima-Yarnall

Mira Nakashima-Yarnall talks about her father, George Nakashima, and his dream of building Altars for Peace formed from three-hundred year old Eastern Walnut Trees. By paying attention to what the wood itself wanted to reveal, Nakashima caught a vision of Sacred Tables built by human hands and consecrated to permeate earth. To date Nakashima's Altars have found a home in NYC, Russia, India and South Africa.

Rebirthing

Sister Miriam MacGillis, co-founder and director of Genesis Farms, an educational center for earth stewardship, reflects on the critical question, "What is the earth asking of us?" as the rebirth of winter's hidden promises is marked during the Spring Equinox.
